Deyá, officially known in Catalan as Deià, is a charming village located in the Sierra de Tramontana, on the west coast of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca . This picturesque place, located between the Sierra de Tramontana and the sea , is a destination that you cannot miss if you find yourself on the island of Mallorca.
The town of Deià is located between the Tramontana mountains leading to the Mediterranean Sea. It covers five kilometres of coastline, and includes the points of Sa Foradada and Deyá, Cala de Deyá and the small cove of Lluch Alcari .
The architecture is made up of traditional stone-built farmhouses . Deià has been home to numerous artists and writers, including the English poet, novelist and scholar, Robert Graves, who settled in the village and collaborated with Laura Riding in setting up the Seizin Press . Graves used Deià as the setting for many of his stories and his house is now a museum.
Restaurants in Deia
Deià has one of the most iconic restaurants on the island, the El Olivo restaurant and its brother Restaurante Miró, which are part of the Belmond La Residencia hotel and are some of the most pleasant places to dine on the island. Although I will tell you about this in this other blog article .
Deià is undoubtedly a must-see on your trip to the island.
